Over the course of the 10 weeks, after my body adjusted to the increased workload I was seeing improvements week after week. Now in my early 40s, after only 10 weeks I am able to run a 10km in 47:39, not only was this pain free, I don't ever remember running that distance less than 50:00 before.

He helped me realize (lovingly) that I had some major training blind spots (which no other coach or instructor had caught in >25 years of classes, programs and sessions).

The outcomes have been amazing: I can confidently say that I'm the strongest and fittest I've ever been by far and I'm much more confident in all my mountain activities! Big mountain bike rides are feeling so much easier.

Julian's program not only built strength and endurance, but also made me much more aware of my body and what it was telling me. I was able to identify potential injuries as they were forming and understand when to push through or dial it back; lessons which I'll use for the rest of my active life. Julian did a fantastic job of customizing the program around my Enduro races and multi day skip-touring trips to ensure I was peaking at the right time and when recovery was needed.

Over the 10 weeks, the progress was kind of wild. Week by week, I was lifting heavier, feeling more solid, and just generally more confident in my body. Training with a small group made a big difference — it was motivating, and it felt like everyone was in it together. I also got way more comfortable in the gym. I used to feel pretty lost around equipment, but now I walk in and know exactly what to do. That shift alone was huge.

I’ve also noticed a big difference in my running. I feel stronger on climbs, I’ve got more spring in my legs, and my cadence and heart rate have both improved. Everything just feels more efficient. My training is way more structured now, and I actually look forward to the strength work because I can see how directly it’s helping me on the trails.

I continued training with Julian after the series and within 6 weeks of the program ending I ran my fastest Half Marathon and my first Ultra Marathon.
